Alston Craft Fair

Where did the year go?  Almost December already!  And, of course, the first weekend in December always brings with it Alston Craft Fair - a truncated version this year, just two days.  Come along if you can.  It's always full of wonderful things.
On the homefront we're busy hemp-lime plastering, trying to kill two birds with one stone - plastering and insulation.  It's good fun, very easy to do, but dust everywhere.........  We've spent so much time wondering how best to insulate our walls and retain breathability and now we've taken the plunge.  Hopefully it will all be worthwhile.

Of course, energy-wise we've had electricity coming out of our ears for several months now.  Gales, gales and more gales, the irony being that our house is warmer than usual as the dump loads (all heaters of one type or another) are almost permanently on.  Even with two eleven year old boys we don't seem able to generate sufficient washing to take advantage of this plenty.  Not that I'm complaining.  Still, it would be nice to be able to stand upright outside..........
