This should be a good afternoon for the woolly-minded out there, and, what's more, it's entirely free!
For more details, including public transport details check the North Pennines Wool Group's website.
This will be an opportunity to learn what makes a good fleece, have a go at spinning, feltmaking, weaving, compare fleeces from various breeds, discover lots of wool-related information - and eat homemade cakes.
There will also be an opportunity to buy various wools as raw fleece, carded batts, sliver, roving or yarn.
I should just add that some of the wools available will be pretty special, including Teeswater, Blue Faced Leicester, Gotland, Shetland and BowmontXShetland. All wools will be of local origin, several of the breeders will be there on the day.
Please do support this initiative - everyone involved is passionate about promoting local wool and we're all giving our time and expertise for free.
