Highlights and Feltmaking workshops

Where does the time go?  Well, I think most of mine seems to have been spent making felt.  Much of it will be here.

However this poster does give a slightly misleading impression of what you'll find there.  Along with paper and butterflies you'll find local wool, hopefully as you haven't seen it before.  Here are a couple of sneak previews.

When not making felt I'm doing quite a lot of teaching feltmaking - much of it community work, but I do now have some public workshops scheduled, both at home and at MAKE.

There'll be a free taster felting factory at the Stanhope venue of the Highlights Meadowsweet tour plus, back on the smallholding, I'll be holding open studios - very informal affairs - on the first and third Sundays of May, June, July and August.  With any luck, there won't just be wool - there'll also be chocolate sheep!

Just in case I get sidetracked again, I'll mention now that the North Pennines Wool Group, following the astounding and unexpected success of last October's Wool Event, will be holding a bigger and better version - exclusively focused on local, British wool, of course - on 7th & 8th October 2011.  Sign up for the email list to make sure you don't miss out.

  1. The dress look beautiful. I love the mix of textures, the felted wool laying flat and the teeswater tendrils delicately trickling down the back of the dress! Great Coffin too. And laced up properly, not the way they do it in shoe shops. ;)
